Absolutely. Especially Blacks and Latinos. But I believe some of that is our fault. We feed into the stereo type by the way we act, talk, dress and treat each other.
I feel that to a certain degree there is still a free of other races, mainly the white race from the African American perspective. Though more Blacks have obtained higher executive positions in various corportations, these corporations are still run may White males who lack an understanding of other cultures. In addition, many Blacks continue to "fear the man (White)" because the embedded perception is that they are in control of most things...including our lively hood. As an example, I have relatives who live in MS and they still refuse to go in certain areas of their city in which whites reside. This is obsurd behavior to me and when I pointed this out to my sister, she explained that because I live in the (city [i.e. Houston]) that things are different for them in MS. I also think that as a child growing up in the South that much of this fear is learned behavior versus an actual reality.
There’s definitely a fear of “other” races. White people fear that black people will gain power and then exact revenge on them for the way they were treated during the Slavery and Jim Crow eras.
Blacks are afraid they will never get their forty acres and a mule. Basically they’re scared Hispanics will step in and usurp the political and financial power they’ve long awaited. So instead of black and brown people working together to end white supremacy, they’ve essentially been pitted against each other. Both groups vying for control and fearing the other will reach the top first and continue to ignore the other’s struggle.
I think it is a basic survival instinct to fear what you do not understand. It is very much this way in the wild where animals' fears save their lives. However, humans are the most advanced and intelligent spieces. We no longer live in the wild. We have created advanced societies. Why can we not learn about each other instead of fearing each other?
We need to learn to embrace our differences and share them. All cultures have beauty to share and lessons that can be learned from them. There is good and bad in us all. Why can't we embrace the good and change the bad to good.
We have come far as a nation on the issue of race. Just decades ago, we denied individuals the right to vote or even eat in the same restaurants as us. It is sad to see that no ALL the nation has caught up on this issue. It is even sadder to see that the highest powers in the nation do not agree on other individual's equal rights such as homosexuals. My answer to this question is unfortunately, yes, there is still a great fear of races, gender, sexual preferences, etc. today, and we cannot grow as a country until this fear is overcome! In the words of a great man, this is a country where "all men are created equal".

Yes, and of other religions. Look at the fear mongering the political right has wrought towards Muslims.
